District Police Ganderbal Alongwith Geology And Mining Department Seized 22 Vehicles For Illegal Extraction Of Minor Minerals

Ganderbal, Jan 9: A Stringent action has been taken by Ganderbal Police alongwith Geology and Mining Department against illegal extraction of Minor Minerals i.e Sand, Bajri, Boulders and further un-authorised transportation within the District.

Under the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Special Police teams were constituted by Ganderbal Police led by SHOs and DOs of PSs and PPs under to check the menace of illegal mining, during the course of action five Drivers were arrested, four Tippers and one Tractor was also seized on spot. These vehicles were loaded with illegally extracted Bajri/Sand & Boulders from Nallah Sindh Ganderbal.

In this regard Case FIR No.s 02/23, 03/23, 01/23 and 04/23 IPC, under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Kheerbawani, PS Ganderbal & PS Lar respectively and investigation taken up.

Meanwhile, During joint action by Ganderbal Police alongwith Geology and Mining Department raided at different locations in the District and Seized nine Tippers and eight Tractors for the illegal extraction of Minor Minerals from Nullah Sind Ganderbal.

Ganderbal Police again issues strict warning to those who are involved in illegal extraction of Minor Minerals. All are informed to avoid this illegal practice, otherwise strict action under law will be taken against them in future also.
