India is fully prepared to deal any Covid eventuality: Mandaviya

New Delhi, Dec 27 : Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said the country is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality, if the Covid cases increase once again in the country.

The Minister who visited Safdarjung Hospital to review the Covid mock drill and other preparedness of health facilities in view of spurt in COVID-19 cases in some countries said,

“today’s mock drills are conducted across Covid hospitals in the country to take stock of the preparedness and make sure that people get proper treatment.

The mock drills are intended to check the level of preparedness of the hospitals, in terms of equipment, procedure and human resources.

“Such exercises would help our operational readiness and help in filling gaps if any. It will also consequently strengthen the country’s public health response”, Mandaviya said.

Speaking about the hospital’s preparedness, Safdarjung Hospitals Medical Superintendent Dr. B.L. Sherwal said the Minister visited the facility today and he was satisfied with its 44 beds of amenities.

“Under one roof, patients will have access to all the necessary services from test to treatment” he said.

Dr Sherwal also urged the people to follow all appropriate Covid behaviour and said that now the situation in India is under control.

If anything happens, we are fully prepared to tackle the situation”, he added.
