‘Edited book on ‘Anthology of contemporary business trends’ unveiled at NIT Srinagar

“Books integral part of society and have still relevance in digital era,” Prof. Sehgal

Srinagar, Nov 21: An edited book titled ‘An Anthology of Contemporary Business Trends’ was unveiled on Monday at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.

The event was organized by the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management (HSS&M). The edited book is co-authored by Dr. Tahir Ahmad Wani, Dr. Sumaira Jan, Dr. Nufazil Altaf, Dr. Mohd Rafiq Teli, and Dr. Rahul Mirchandani.

In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr) Rakesh Sehgal extended his greetings to the Department of HSS&M and appreciated the efforts of faculty members who are actively engaged in research.

“Books have been an integral part of society for ages and they still hold relevance in this digital era. Nothing can surpass the charm of books which still stand strong against the tide of this ever-changing e-world,” he said.

Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari appreciated the authors of the book and stated that books have played important role in framing the opinion of the people.

“Reading books can enhance the imagination and creativity of students and increases their positive thinking. They not only enrich the experience of students but also sharpen their intellect,” he said.

Dean Research and Consultancy, Prof Wani also congratulated the Department of HSS&M, NIT Srinagar for carrying out research and development activities. He emphasized upon on carrying quality research in the institute.

On the occasion, Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Head Aries Argo Limited, briefed the audience about the contents of the book and the usefulness of the papers of the book to provide solutions to current business problems.

Head CII Srinagar, Mr. Khurshid Dar also attended the book release function. He deliberated upon the areas of collaboration of CII with NIT Srinagar for providing Training and Placement to MBA/MTIEM students of NIT Srinagar.

Prof. Neyaz Ahmad, Head Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management, NIT Srinagar congratulated the authors for the release of the book. He emphasized on collaboration with the industry for the placement of MBA/MTIEM students of the Department.

The function was also attended by Dr. Nasir F Butt and other dignitaries from the department

A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Tahir Ahmad Wani, Assistant Professor, Department of HSS&M, NIT Srinagar.  He said this anthology aims to reflect, deliberate, and suggest necessary and desired measures in the currently evolving and extremely challenging business scenario.

“It brings together the work of leading academicians, researchers, and industry professionals on aspects of contemporary business trends in human resource, financial, and technology management,” he said.

 Dr Tahir expressed his gratitude to Director NIT Srinagar Prof.Sehgal, Institute’s Registrar Prof. Bukhari, and Prof. MF Wani for their unconditional support in making the event successful.
