Srinagar, Nov 17 :A major fire broke out in the Jama Masjid Hanfiya, Drass town at around 5:30 PM during hours of dusk. Soldiers of Drass Warrior Brigade were pressed into action immediately on receiving the information and reacting swiftly to the incident reached the site, where the fire was raging and threatening to engulf the entire premises of the Masjid. With concerted efforts and utter disregard to personal safety, soldiers with the assistance of community members of Drass, toiled relentlessly for almost three hours and were able to control the fire, with no loss of life.
