Sharath Kamal to receive get Khel Ratna Award 2022

New Delhi, Nov 14 : Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award will be given to Sharath Kamal Achanta (Table Tennis) as the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports on Monday announced the National Sports Awards 2022.
A total of 25 sportspersons including shuttlers Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, boxer Nikhat Zareen, athletes Eldhose Paul, Avinash Sable will receive Arjuna Awards for their outstanding performances in Sports and Games.
The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India Droupadi Murmu, at a specially organised function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 30, 2022 at 1600 hrs.
This year, for the first time, applications were invited only online and sportspersons/coaches/entities were permitted to self-apply through a dedicated portal.
A large number of nominations were received for these awards this year, which were considered by the Selection Committee headed by Justice A. M. Khanwilkar, Retd. Judge, Supreme Court of India and consisting members from eminent sportspersons, persons having experience in sports journalism and sports administrators.
