Police solves 02 burglary cases in Awantipora; 02 arrested,Stolen property worth lakhs recovered

Awantipora, Nov 14: Police in Awantipora have solved 02 burglary cases by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from their possession.

Police Station Khrew received written complaints from Ishfaq Majeed Dar resident of Ladhoo Khrew and Ghulam Hassan Sheikh resident of Khrew stating therein that some unknown burglars have stolen golden ornaments from their residential houses located at Ladhoo and Khrew. Accordingly, cases vide FIR Nos’. 67/2022 & 68/2022 under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Khrew and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, strenuous efforts were put forth by the investigating officers by using modern techniques including the collection & examination of CCTV footage, collection of evidences resulted in the identification of 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat son of Wali Mohd Bhat resident of Mughal Bagh Wanpoh Anantnag and Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Banghdar Anantnag and were subsequently arrested.

On their disclosure, the investigating team recovered stolen gold ornaments worth rupees 08 lakhs from their possession.
