Vice Chairman LCMA kick-starts plantation drive in the catchment area of Dal Lake

Srinagar, Nov 12: The Vice Chairman LCMA, Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat today kick started a plantation drive in the catchment area of Dal Lake.

70 students from different schools also participated in the said drive and they were made aware about the importance of a tree and these drives develop a responsive behaviour among children.

Speaking at the vent, the Vice Chairman LCMA said that planting more trees is the need of the hour as these measures will help to arrest the silt and erosion which is affecting the lake.

He informed that this season LCMA is going to plant about one lac plants in the catchment area of Dal Lake. He urged people to plant the trees.

Gulzar Ahmad, Collector LCMA; Irfan Bahadur,  Secretary LCMA; Masood Ahmad, Ex.Engineer LCMA; Khurshid Ahmad, Ex. Engineer and Project Officer WMD and officials of LCMA were present at the event.
