DC Gbl discusses implementation of NEP-2020 in district

Ganderbal, Nov 5:  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired the meeting of the education department to discuss the progress on implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the district.

At the outset, threadbare discussion was held regarding the action plan and activities carried out in the district as per the guidelines of the NEP.

Nodal officer for NEP 2020 from DIET Ganderbal gave a brief about the features of NEP 2020 through the powerpoint presentation and activities being carried out as per the guidelines besides role of DIET in implementation of NEP 2020.

It was informed that DIET has conducted various training programs among the stakeholders/ teachers on various aspects including Vidya Pravesh Training Programme, School Based Assessment Programme, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, training among SMDC members, school leadership development programme and others.

On the occasion, the DC sought feedback from the ZEOs and Head of Institutions regarding the implementation plan of NEP in the district. They also shared their valuable suggestions for successful implementation of NEP.

Speaking during the meeting, the DC said that NEP 2020 leads the way for transformational reforms in the education system and Government intendants to bring the development of the country based on the education from primary to higher education.

He urged all the stake-holders to work in an accountable manner to implement NEP 2020 in letter and spirit in the district. He also directed the DIET Ganderbal to hold brain-storming sessions, proper training and counselling and interaction programs with all the stakeholders to pave the way for the total implementation of NEP 2020.

The meeting was attended by CEO Ganderbal, Majid Ahmad Kholi, Dy CEO, Nazir Ahmad Wani, ZEOs, Head of Institutions besides officials from DIET Ganderbal.
