‘Back to Village’ witnesses overwhelming public response in all 178 panchayats of Kulgam

Inaugurates sports tournament, takes stock of local issues

Kulgam, Nov 2: The fourth phase of ambitious ‘Back to Village’ (B2V-4) programme today witnessed overwhelming public response across all 178 panchayats of Kulgam district with visiting officers performing multiple activities in their allotted panchayats.

The designated Visiting Officers listened to issues and concerns of locals and PRIs who thronged the B2V events in large numbers making their presence visible in the development process.

The officers also inspected progress on various ongoing development works besides inaugurating several completed development projects in these panchayats.

A series of activities were conducted in all these Panchayat halqas spanning across the 11 blocks of the district.

Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, who was Visiting Officer for D K Marg panchayat, on his  second day visit  to the  Panchayat  took stock of progress on development works and implementation status of various schemes.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat, SSP, Dr G. V Sandeep SDM Noorabad, ACD and other officers.

During his visit, he interacted with PRI members and locals to take stock of their issues concerning welfare and development of their respective areas.

While speaking on the occasion, he highlighted objective and aim of government’s ambitious Outreach Programme. He sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.

He also distributed sports kits among the youth clubs and students at D K Marg.

Earlier, he inspected stalls installed by various departments and distributed land passbooks, golden crads, e-shram cards and sanction letters among the beneficiaries besides giving away household items to beneficiaries for Ghar Pravesh.

He distributed gift packs among girls under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao besides visiting several offices and institutions to assess their functioning.

He also visited health centre at D K Marg and took stock of available facilities for patient care in the hospital. He kick started door to door solid waste collection in the Panchayat and handed over rickshaw for collection of solid waste to the Panchayat.

Later, he visited Sports Stadium Kulgam where he inaugurated cricket tournament and also distributed sports kits.
