B2V-4: 128 Panchayats covered in the second phase at Ananatnag

Anantnag, Nov 1: The second phase of Back to Village-4 programme culminated today in Anantnag during which 128 Panchayats were covered spanning 6 community development blocks.

A plethora of activities were conducted in all the Panchayats viz. Cultural events, sports activities by school children and youth club members etc.

The visiting officers conducted Gram Sabha for formulation of GPDP and reviewed the works completed under the previous back to village programs.

They also inspected the works completed in the Panchayat under various CSSs, public institutions and discussed implementation of public welfare measures in the Panchayat. Mahila Sabhas and Bal Sabhas were held to allow women and children to highlight specific issues and address them appropriately.

They Visiting Officers also inspected the rejuvenation of local ponds completed under the Amrit Sarovar project. They spread awareness regarding various welfare schemes including PM SEHAT, e-Shram Cards, Soil Health Cards and KCCs. They appealed to people to register themselves so that they can enjoy the benefits under different schemes.

The Revenue Department focused on distribution of land pass books among beneficiaries. More than 6000 land pass books were issued in the second phase of the B2V4 program.

Representatives of various line departments were also present on the occasion to address the queries raised by the public. Pani Samiti members gave demonstrations of Field Testing kits in various Panchayats.

In every panchayat, youth were identified for assistance under self-employment schemes and for upgradation of skills under the Himayat programme. The youth actively participated in GPDP formulation, in sports activities and gave their views regarding the works that need to be taken up in Panchayats for productive engagement of young minds.

The third phase of the programme will begin from the 2nd of November and will cover 110 Panchayats across 4 community development blocks. The training of the visiting officers who are deployed in the third phase has already been completed.
