Gandhi Jayanti:Swachata Activities & Gram Sabhas carried out in all 21 Panchayats of Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 3:  Swachata Activities and Gram Sabhas were carried out in all 21 Panchayats of the district Srinagar to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

On the occasion, the programmes were carried out in all four Blocks of the district viz. Harwan, Qamarwari, Khonmoh and Srinagar.

Large number of people across all Panchayats of the district participated in these programmes and took pledge to keep their surroundings neat and clean.

The programmes were conducted under the supervision of Syed Farooq Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Srinagar.

Campaign on Door to Door collection of solid waste was also launched in rural areas of Srinagar district to raise awareness among the rural population regarding segregation of waste and its benefits.

Moreover, Gram Sabhas with respect to village development plans were also conducted.
