TVDP discussed at Ganderbal 

DDC directs for availability of requisite facilities in identified tourist villages

 

Ganderbal, Sep 30: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal Shyambir today conducted a meeting to review the formulation of DPR under the Tourist Village Development Plan (TVDP).

The meeting was attended by CPO Ganderbal, Irfan Giri, CEO SDA, CEO WMDA, SDM Kangan, Assistant Director Tourism Ganderbal, Tourist Officer, SDA, Tourist Officer, WMDA.

 

Threadbare discussion was held during the meeting regarding the face-lifting of  selected villages in a unique and different way so as to present a novel approach for the development of these areas to attract tourists.

 

CEO SDA and CEO WMDA also shared their valuable views regarding the steps to be taken for creating an overall different aura for these selected tourism villages.

 

While interacting with the officers, the DDC said TVDP scheme has the potential and propensity to mobilize the diverse geographical and socio-economic landscape of the district.

 

Keeping in view the importance and objective of the programme, he directed all the concerned officers to ensure all requisite infrastructural facilities besides better road connectivity, sanitation and other basic facilities are available for tourists within selected villages.

 

The DDC impressed upon all the officers to work proactively so that these villages show a boost in tourism influx and offers a unique perspective for a tourist, and furthermore directed them to make itinerary of their selected tourism villages for attraction of the home stay tourists for longer durations.

 

He said that the scheme would be instrumental in promoting rural tourism and employment generation for local youth of the district saying that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders including locals in keeping such villages neat and clean so that the tourists visiting there may not face any inconvenience.
