Shopian Gunfight: Lull at Encounter site, Searches Underway, Militants likely Escaped: Officials

Srinagar, Sep 30:There was a lull after a gunfight broke out been militants and security forces in wee hours on Friday at Chitragam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A top Police officer told GNS that there was a lull after a brief exchange of fire took place between militants and security forces in wee hours today.

Militants might have escaped from the encounter site taking advantage of darkness, however we are not taking any chance as cordon and search operation will continue in the area to trace fleeing militants, the top cop added.
