Srinagar Admin conducts inspection of 34 Business Establishments to check prevalence of Child Labour

Action initiated against 06 Establishments for indulging in Child labour

Srinagar, Set 27 : In order to check the prevalence of Child Labour occurrence within Shops & Establishments Act, a team of Assistant Labour Commissioner Srinagar on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection in various parts of Srinagar City.

The inspection teams visited dozens of locations in various City areas including Parimpora, Batamaloo, Barzulla, Lalchowk, Lasjan and other adjoining markets and various violators were on spot put on notice under the relevant provisions of Child Labour (Regulation & Prohibition) Act.

In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar asked the officers to undertake field visits across the District to ensure enforcement of labour laws and also to eradicate the menace of child labour in Srinagar.

He further asked to make all-out efforts for highlighting various schemes of the government for labourers.
