Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of I&B, J&K Ladakh Region kick-starts ‘Hindi Pakhwada’

Jammu, Sep 15 :To promote Hindi language and its usage, Central Bureau of Communication, (CBC) J&K, Ladakh Region, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today kick-started ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ celebrations at CBC Regional Office, Jammu.

In his presidential address, Padam Shri Awardee Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri, who was also the chief guest on the occasion, said that Hindi is taught in more than 250 universities worldwide, being the third largest spoken language which shows the universal impact of this language.

Terming Hindi language as an ocean which has ingested many changes with time, Sh. Udhampuri said that Hindi language has absorbed many words of different languages which are now easily used and understood by the common masses.

He further added that only few languages in the world have proper name for every human relation and Hindi is among one of them. We find a clear distinction regarding names of relations in Hindi like Chacha, Mama etc. which is lacking in many international languages like English, he added.

Talking about the global marketing trends around the world, Sh. Udhampuri informed that big MNCs are hiring the Hindi knowing experts for marketing their goods and services in the vast emerging market of India.

In his welcome address, Sh Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, CBC J&K, Ladakh Region emphasized that Hindi is the language that can unite the vast boundaries of India. Sh. Abbas further stressed that Hindi language must be a medium of communication in all the government offices being ‘Rashtriya Basha’ as it has a great potential to remove language barriers everywhere in the country.

Sh. Abbas also highlighted the role of ‘Akashvani’ in extending and spreading Hindi language throughout the country.

Sh Ravi Kumar, Director, Doordarshan Kendra Jammu praised the efforts of CBC and PIB J&K for making extensive efforts and arrangements for celebrating ‘Hindi Pakhwada’. Sh. Kumar emphasized that more efforts are required for making the Hindi language usable in offices.

During the event, the artists of CBC J&K, Sh. Ram Lal, Sh Neeraj Kumar, Smt. Ritu Sharma, Smt. Sunita Attri and  Sh. Virender Kapadia performed cultural items made specifically on ‘Hindi Diwas’ theme.

Sh. Naseer Ahmad Rather, News Editor, All India Radio Jammu was also present in the function.

Vote of thanks was presented by flute maestro of CBC J&K, Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma.
