Bear Attack Leaves Elderly Man Injured in J&K’s Poonch

Poonch, Sep 10: A 53-year-old man was mauled by a bear in the higher reaches of Thanamandi in J&K’s Poonch district on Saturday, officials said.

As per the officials, the man identified as Ghulam Hussain son of Fazal Hussain of Mangota in tehsil Mandi of Poonch district was grazing his livestock when the bear attacked him near Rarry Dhoke leaving him injured.

Locals evacuated him to PHC Thanamandi for treatment from where he was referred to GMC Rajouri for specialized treatment.
