Urs Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari celebrated with religious fervor in Ganderbal

Over 2 crore assistance given to various beneficiaries under different schemes

Ganderbal, Sep 8: After 33 years, the four-day annual Urs of Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari (RA) is being observed with much enthusiasm and religious fervor in Reshipora, Saloora Ganderbal which commenced on September 7 and day two witnessed participation of thousands of devotees.

To ensure successful observation of the Urs district administration Ganderbal has put all arrangements in place besides the areas en-route wears a festive look as administration has decorated the areas with lights and paintings.

As a part of the Urs Culture show, Fun Fair Mela besides installation of over 30 stalls by various departments was also put in place which saw participation of thousands of people from all walks of life here at Qamaria Stadium.

Main attraction of the day two was culture show which was witnessed by DDC Chairperson, Nuzhat Ishfaq, Vice-Chairperson, Bilal Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Shyambir, President Municipal Council, Hilal Ahmad Tantray, ADDC, ADC, CPO besides DDC Members, BDC Chairpersons, Councilors of Municipal Council Ganderbal, other PRI members and locals.

The cultural Show-Mefil-e- Samaa was organized as a part of ongoing Urs of Syed Qamar-Ud-Din Bukhari (RA) by District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with J&K Department of Tourism and Cultural Academy at Qamaria Stadium in which renowned Singers of Valley which include versatile Kashmiri Folk Singer Abdul Rashid Haafiz, Gulam Ahmed Sofi, Gulzar Ahmed Ganie, Abdul Gaffar Kahhami and Mohammad Abdulla Shaksaz sung mesmerizing Sufiyana songs which enthralled the audience.

 

Earlier, the DC went around the stalls put up in Qamaria Stadium and enquired about the services being offered. He interacted with the stall holders and appreciated the quality of products put on display.

On the occasion the District administration also distributed around 2 crore assistance among the beneficiaries under various financial and social assistance schemes.

On the occasion tractors, loan sanction letters under PMEGP, Sports Kits, Pack Houses, power tillers, hearing aids, tricycles, KCC loans, Golden Cards and driving licenses were distributed among the beneficiaries.
