Dulloo reviews progress of CAPEX, CSS, NABARD for APD

Srinagar, Sep 8: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo today chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review the progress of the UT CAPEX, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), NABARD and Deliverables under the implementation in Agriculture Production Department.

The meeting was attended by Secretary in Agriculture Production Department, HoDs of concerned departments and other senior officers. Jammu based officers attended the meeting through Video Conference.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on physical and financial progress made by the Departments under Capex 2022-23 and CSSs, NABARD during the current financial year.

While reviewing the progress on different parameters of various schemes by these departments, Dulloo directed all HoDs to gear up the field staff so that substantial progress under UT capex can be achieved. He asked them to utilise the resources effectively so that maximum farmers are benefited from these schemes.

The ACS reiterated that the Line Departments should focus on implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes and asked them to submit progress reports regularly. He stressed upon all the HoD’s to work in a coordinated manner to achieve the given deliverables within the assigned guidelines.

Atal Dulloo further delved upon the HoD’s to utilize the CSS funding effectively so that the objective of these schemes is achieved and the benefits are percolated to the common masses.

He directed the officers for analysis of KCC data and check how many farmers are actually taking benefits out of the scheme. Regarding the seed distribution, he directed the officers to make sure that farmers are provided quality seeds timely, besides increasing the availability of fertilizers.

He further directed the concerned to expand the scope of opportunities for production of off-season vegetables for increasing crop intensity, besides directing them to take measures to increase the land area under oilseeds, fodder and other crops.

While reviewing the progress made in Sericulture sector, ACS directed the officers to expand clusters and involve more people through Self Help Groups like SRLM, NRLM so that people take this a supplementary source of income.

Earlier the HoDs of the departments made a detailed presentation of CAPEX, CSS, NABARD of their respective departments and highlighted certain issues.
