7 people killed, 5 others injured as Tata Sumo falls into gorge in Kishtwar

Jammu, Aug 30 : At least seven people were killed and five others injured when a Tata sumo they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into gorge in Kishtwar district on Tuesday, officials said.

They said that the accident took place near Bunda Chatroo Changa when driver of the vehicle (JK17 -9117), a private taxi, lost control over it. Five people died on the spot while two others succumbed whilke be evacuated, they said. Five others were shifted to hospital by rescuers including locals, police and army, they said. Among the injured, they said, some are very “critical.”

A police official confirmed to GNS the accident and casualties in the accident. He said a case is being registered with regard to it.
