Kulgam Police observed Thana Diwas

Kulgam, Aug 25: Kulgam Police continuing its public outreach programme today held ‘Thana Divas’ functions at police station *Kulgam*, police station *Devsar*, police station *Manzgam* and police station *Kund*, chaired by respective jurisdictional Police officers in which Sarpanchs, Panchs, Respectable citizens ,civil societies of concerned areas, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation and Transporters of respective areas participated.

During the meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasions, it was reiterated that the main aim of organising ‘Thana Divas’ is to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in Policing at grassroot level and to hear and redress grievances of general public, besides seek support and active cooperation in maintaining L&O, curbing drug menace and others social evils in the areas.

The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Kulgam Police in identifying anti-national and anti social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment in the district. The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boost Community Policing and Public confidence.
