Ministry of Railways refutes the news report published in newspaper

New Delhi, Aug 23:The Ministry of Railway refutes the news report published in newspaper on 20 August, 2020 that Delhi-Varanasi bullet train project hits roadblock, Railway Board rejects feasibility report.

In a statement, Ministry of Railways said that news report has not presented the correct perspective about the proposed Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail project. The writer neither presented facts correctly nor did he seek Railways’ version. This resulted in maligning the image of Indian Railways to a great extent.

Further said in the matter that the news article is totally devoid of facts. No meeting took place between Sri R N Singh (Principal ED/Infra) and National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited officials to discuss Delhi-Varanasi HSR DPR recently as quoted in the subject news item, and no decision has been taken on DPR of Delhi- Varanasi High Speed Rail. The fact of the matter is there are no issues with the DPR of Delhi-Varanasi high-speed corridor from Rail Ministry.

Therefore, it is clear that news was done without bothering to collect any fact. Such kind of journalism is not only unethical but also raises question on the prejudiced attitude of the correspondent. The very fact that railway version was not taken, indicates deliberate attempt to sabotage the prestigious Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Project.
