DM Writes To SSP Poonch For ‘Proper’ Investigation Into Woman’s Alleged Murder Last Week
Poonch, Aug 23 : District Magistrate Poonch has written a communication to SSP Poonch, directing proper investigation into the alleged murder of a woman in Surankote area of this mountainous district last week.
The communication followed a representation by one Asif Khan, son of the woman, who has alleged “hush up” and sought postmortem and initiation of legal action against the accused persons.
“One Mr. Asif Khan son of Mohammad Sharief Khan of Village Buffliaz, Tehsil Surankote, District Poonch appeared before the undersigned with representation alleging that his mother namely Masooma Begum has been brutally murdered by some persons (names mentioned in the representation) on 18-08-2022,” reads the communication sent to the SSP by the District Magistrate Poonch. “When her dead body was found in the evening she was buried without any effective legal action to hush up the things.
The representation contains a detailed explanation of events. He has requested for conducting post mortem of the deceased and initiating legal action,” the communication, a copy of which lies with GNS reads further, adding, “The matter is of serious nature and needs to be investigated properly.”
Subsequently the District Magistrate said: “As such you are requested to examine the issue and take appropriate necessary. “
