Awwa Meet On The Occasion Of Awwa Day: 23 Aug 2022

Srinagar, Aug 23 : An Army Wives Welfare Association Meet was organised by Leh Sub Area under the aegis of ‘Fire and Fury’ Corps at Rinchen Auditorium on 23 Aug 2022 which was attended by a large number of Veer Naris domiciled in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The Meet was inaugurated by Mrs Rupali Mehrotra, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organization, Leh Sub Area and Mrs Gurmeet Kaur Mokha, Zonal Vice President Army Wives Welfare Association, Fire and Fury Corps. Thereafter, the video messages of Mrs Archana Pande, President, Army Wives Welfare Association and Mrs Sunita Dwivedi, Regional President, Army Wives Welfare Association, Northern Command were screened for the Veer Naris. Mrs Rupali Mehrotra and Mrs Gurmeet Kaur Mokha also felicitated the Veer Naris and the award winners of Army Wives Welfare Association, Award for Excellence for their contribution towards improvement in quality of life of soldiers and their families and other significant AWWA activities in the Corps Zone.

The Army Wives Welfare Association Meet was a huge success, wherein, various grievances of the Veer Naris were registered and resolved under  ‘One Single Window’ by various Military and Civil Administration agencies which had gathered together to include the representatives of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), Allahabad, Zila Sainik Welfare Board (Ladakh), various Pension Disbursement Banks etc.

Awareness and Information Stall’s were also established during the Meet which provided  ‘‘First Hand Information’’ to the Veer Naris to get acquainted with various Welfare Schemes and facilities available to them from the Army, Central Government and Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh. The attendees were also provided with an opportunity to avail Medical and Canteen facilities.
