Srinagar, Aug 18: Indian Army organised first ever Machhal Athletics Meet for the youth of Machhal Bowl. This athletic meet was conducted at Machhal village playground for duration of three days and witnessed participation from each village.
The event was an endeavour under Project Sadhbavna to inspire the youth of Machhal bowl to take up athletics as a sport and identify their prowess. Students of Machhal High School, Dapbal High School and Pushwari Middle school participated in large numbers in both track and field events. The girls also participated in the track events. The inter school competition was enjoyed by everyone and villagers came in large numbers to witness the school meet.
The winners and runner ups in each event were awarded medals. The children enjoyed and participated in each event wholeheartedly.
