Legal Awareness Programme On NALSA (Victims of Trafficking And Commercial Sexual Exploitation) scheme 2015

Ganderbal, Aug 18 :District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal today organized an awareness programme on “NALSA Scheme: (Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation) Scheme 2015” at Government Degree College Ganderbal. The awareness programme was held under the guidance of Mrs. Tabasum Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.

The aim of the Programme was to spread awareness about the issues related to Sexual Exploitation.
The resource person, Advocate Rameez Ahmad spoke on the role of District Legal Services Authorities in providing Legal Services to address the concerns of Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation at the stages of prevention, rescue and their rehabilitation. He added that Section 12 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 enables victims of human trafficking to receive legal services and made participants aware about the different schemes of NALSA related to rehabilitation of victims of trafficking. He informed the participants about the various initiatives run by the Government of India in favour of Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation.

The program was attended by Faculty members & students of Degree College Ganderbal and officials & PLVs of DLSA Ganderbal.
