Condemnations pour in over Shopian killing

Srinagar,Aug 16 ; Condemnation poured in over killing of Kashmir Pandit and injuries to his brother in Shopian district of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
“Pained beyond words on despicable terror attack on civilians in Shopian. My thoughts are with the family of Sunil Kumar. Praying for speedy recovery of injured. The attack deserves strongest condemnation from everyone. Terrorists responsible for barbaric act will not be spared”, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted.
BJP national general secretary and in charge Jammu and Kashmir Tarun Chugh also condemned the killing of Sunil kumar terming the dastardly act as extremely sad and painful.
Chugh said that killing an innocent civilian in such a manner is an act of cowardice and the perpetrators behind this gruesome killing should be brought to justice
Former Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah as well as Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone also condemned the attack.
“I condemn the militant attack in Shopian unequivocally in which Sunil Kumar was killed & Pinto Kumar injured. My condolences to the family,” Omar said in a tweet.
“Yet another dastardly attack by coward (militants) in Shopian. We strongly condemn this heinous act of violence. My condolences to the family”, Sajad lone tweeted.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also expressed his shock and grief over the killing.
“I am shocked over the terror attack in which a Kashmiri Pandit was killed and his brother injured in Shopian. Such brutal acts of violence cannot be acceptable to anyone. Our heads must roll in shame seeing these inhuman acts occurring here.”
He added, “My heart goes out to the parents and other relatives of the deceased person. One can imagine the pain and agony that the victim’s family must be going through at this time. May Allah give them patience and strength to bear the pain of this irreparable loss.”
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir termed the killing as dastardly act committed by the militants and condemned the incident in strongest terms.
