New Delhi, Aug 12 : India registered 16,551 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,42,23,557 while the death toll rose to 5,26,928 as 49 more succumbed to the disease.
On the other hand, 18,053 people recuperated from the disease, taking the recovery to 4,35,73,094. The recovery rate stands at 98.53 per cent.
The active caseload currently stands at 1,23,535, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 87.95 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 207.47 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
