India logs 16,047 new Covid cases

New Delhi, Aug 10 : India registered 16,047 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,41,90,697 while the death toll rose to 5,26,772 as 54 more succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 19,539 people recuperated from the disease, taking the recovery to 4,35,35,610. The recovery rate stands at 98.52 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 1,28,261, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 87.88 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 207.03 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
