India records 19,406 new Covid cases

New Delhi, Aug 6 : A total of 19,406 new cases of Covid-19 was reported in India, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,41,26,994 while the death toll rose to 5,26,649 as 49 more succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 19,928 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally to 4,34,65,552. The recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 1,34,793, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 87.75 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 205.92 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
