Rupee up 9 paise against USD

Mumbai, Aug 1 :The Rupee on Monday advanced 9 paise to 79.16 against the US dollar in opening trade on selling of the green back by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit moved up in early trade due to weak dollar against other world currencies.

The Rupee unit registered days high and low at 79.12 and 79.20 respectively against the US Dollar, a dealer added.
