India records 20,409 new Covid cases

New Delhi, July 29 :A total of 20,409 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in India, the Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the Health Ministry bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,39,79,730 while the death toll rose to 5,26,258 after 47 more people succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, 22,697 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally of recoveries to 4,33,09,484. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.47 per cent.

The active caseload currently stands at 1,43,988, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 87.44 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 203.60 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
