Militancy Purpose: 5 more houses attached in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 28: Police on Thursday said that five more houses in Srinagar have been attached, who were used for militancy purposes.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that after taking prior approval of PHQ, the following properties have been attached as per provisions of sec 2(g) and 25 Unlawful activities prevention act, :

The police spokesman said that Residential houses of Baber Suhail Sofi son of Mohd Yousuf Sofi resident of Lawaypora Usman abad, Adil Mohd Lone son of Gh Mohd Lone resident of Bazar Mohalla Lawaypora, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir and Rameez Ahmad Mir both sons of Khursheed Ahmad Mir resident of Maloora.

These houses were used by militants who were involved in case FIR Mo.48/2021 U/S 307,302,392,120/B IPC, 7/25,7/27 A-Act 16,18,20, UA(P) Act registered in police station Parimpora, he said.

Residential House in Firdous Abad Batamaloo belonging to one Abdul Majeed ganie son of Gh Mohd in Case FIR No 128/2020 U/S 7/27 A Act ,16,19, 20 UAPA, 302 ,307 IPC in Batmaloo police station and One double storey house in respect of Ab Rehman Bhat son of Ab Razaq Bhat R/o Darbagh Harwan (father of accused Ashiq Hussain Bhat) involved in case FIR No 95/2021 U/S under section 307 IPC 7/27 A Act, 13,16,18,19,20 UAP Act dated 19-12-2021 of PS Harwan, he said.

During course of investigation, it was proved beyond doubt that these houses were used by active militants in conspiring, planning and executing militant acts in Srinagar district, he said.

The house owners willfully provided shelter and harboured the militants in these houses, they also logistics needed for such stay, he said.

The general public is once again requested to not harbour or provide shelter or extend logistics to militants/ militant associates in their houses, failing which strict legal action will be taken against anyone doing so, reads the statement.
