KL Rahul likely to miss T20 series in WI: Reports

Bengaluru, July 27 : India opening batter K L Rahul likely to miss entire T20I series against West Indies as he has been advised a week’s rest to recover properly.

He was in the isolation period after testing positive for Covid-19, which ends today. According to ESPNcricinfo, Rahul has been advised one more week’s rest and recuperation by the BCCI’s medical professionals.

The wicketkeeper-batter was preparing to emplane to West Indies last week after he had recuperated from a sports hernia surgery at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where he is undergoing a rehab training.

Even if he returned the two required negative tests, Rahul was believed to be in a doubt for the T20I part of the West Indies tour. However, depending on the outcome of his cardiovascular tests, he could have been a part of the team for the USA leg of the series, ESPNcricinfo reported.

The first T20I will be played on July 29 at Trinidad’s Brian Lara Stadium before both sides travel to St. Kitts for the second and third match, scheduled on August 1 and 2, respectively.

The final two matches will be place in Florida, USA on August 6 and 7 respectively
