Celebration of Digital Week: Digi Mela commences at Ganderbal

Day one witnesses overwhelming response from people

Ganderbal, July 25: In view of the celebration of Digital Week from 25th to 31st July 2022 across J&K, the Digi Mela organized by the District Administration Ganderbal commenced today in the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.

The mela was presided over by DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir.

DDC Vice-Chairperson, Bilal Ahmad, ADDC Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah besides DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and other district officers were present on the occasion.

As many as 40 stalls were set up by different departments and CSCs aimed at creating awareness of over 200 online services launched by the government and providing online services on the spot among the general public.

Day one of the Digi Mela witnessed an overwhelming response of people from all walks of life including students who were given awareness of online services, registration process criteria and various beneficiaries were registered on spot.

All the departments had prepared hoardings/ banners showcasing the online services pertaining to their departments besides resource persons were imparting awareness to visitors about different government schemes and services being delivered through online mode.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various stalls along with ADDC and enquired about online services provided and process of registration.

Meanwhile, DDC Chairperson and DC handed over symbolic digital passbooks among various land holders of the district.

Speaking in the inaugural session of the Digi Mela, the DC said that the Digital Programme has been launched with the aim to ensure digital access, digital deliverable of services and digital inclusion of all in the district besides, the roll out of e-services has greatly benefited the public and brought transparency in the working of public offices.

Later, Mobile van was flagged-off by the DDC Chairperson and DC to showcase the digital transformation in public services delivery and create awareness regarding e-services in all blocks of the district.
