Ladakh Ignited Minds : A Centre Of Excellence And Wellness

(An Indian Army Initiative)

 

Srinagar, July 23 :The project Ladakh Ignited Minds : A Centre of Excellence and Wellness has been conceptualised to secure a better future for youth of UT of Ladakh and is a full-time residential program to mentor, support and guide them for a period of twelve months for entrance examinations of various Medical and Engineering Colleges, pan India. The program, under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps of Indian Army, is being executed by Kanpur based NGO, National Integrity & Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO).

Indian Army is overlooking the program with requisite funding support through Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The highlights of the project include 100% free residential coaching, engaging renowned faculty from across the country, state of the art computer laboratories, in-depth researched academic modules and soft skills enabled programmes. The objectives of the project include inculcating a sense of competition and competitiveness amongst the students, instilling a sense of responsibility towards society, making them confident and determined to face future challenges and instilling patriotic values.

Presently 55 students, including 34 girls are undergoing the program. Out of these, 34 students have opted for medical studies and have appeared for NEET (Medical) and are awaiting the results. Balance 21 students who have opted for engineering studies appeared for JEE Mains-1, in which 17 have qualified. All the students will again appear for JEE Mains-2 and based on their overall performances in these exams, the students will appear for JEE Advanced which is scheduled to be held in Aug 2022. Indian Army remains committed in its efforts towards facilitating the under privileged but talented students of UT of Ladakh to find the best employment opportunities besides mentoring them in soft skills, leadership roles and overall personality development.
