Red Cross Holds Blood Donation Camps at Srinagar and Shopian

Srinagar, July 21: Indian Red Cross Society, J&K Chapter today organized two voluntary Blood Donation Camps in collaboration with the Income Tax Department, Srinagar and HDFC Bank, Shopian. The blood was received by the Blood Banks of Govt. Medical College Srinagar and Govt. District Hospital, Pulwama respectively.
During these camps around 40 employees of the two organizations including voluntary blood donors from general public donated their blood.
While lauding the contribution of blood donors, Mr. Rizvi in his message extended gratitude to the staff of Income Tax Department and HDFC Bank who donated their precious blood on this event. He also thanked the donors from general public for their gracious contribution towards such noble cause. Mr. Rizvi added, “Keeping in view the shortage of blood since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, there is an urgent need of organizing more such camps in every district on a monthly basis”. Mr. Rizvi urged Red Cross volunteers and the general public to come forward and donate blood and save precious lives.
Mr. Rizvi also offered his appreciation to the Principal Govt. Medical College, Srinagar and Medical Superintendent, Govt. District Hospital, Pulwama and their Blood Bank officials for their purposeful cooperation with Indian Red Cross Society in organizing these blood donation camps.
