J&K: Police solves theft cases in Poonch

Jammu, July 20 :Police on Wednesday claimed that they have solved three cases of theft and cash and gold items worth lakhs have been recovered in Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

lice, Poonch, Rohit Baskotra said that three different theft cases have been worked out in Mendhar Sub Division and a cash to the tune of Rs 1.6 lakh and gold items are recovered.

Special police teams were constituted and after scrutinising CCTV cameras footage and through technical evidences, three accused persons were arrested.

The arrested persons identified as Abbas Khan and Zariyat Hussain, both residents of Potha, Surankote and Mohammad Nazarat of Banpat, Poonch.

During questioning, the accused persons confessed their involvement and on their disclosure the stolen cash and gold items were recovered, said the SSP.
