Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations At Rampur

Srinagar, July 13 :Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year to celebrate the valor and steadfast leadership of Indian Army. 22 years ago, the Indian Army ousted Pakistani troops from icy heights of Kargil and fluttered Tiranga with pride. The day also marks the commemoration of supreme sacrifices made by valiant Indian soldiers during the Kargil War. Kargil Victory Flame is a symbol of the nation’s pride and homage to heroes who sacrificed lives for the country.

On 12 Jul, Kargil Victory Flame reached Rampur Military Station, giving opportunity to the people of Boniyar  to come together in celebration of a great victory. A series of events conducted included Victory March and wreath laying ceremony at Pir Panjal War Memorial. The Victory flame was received by the Brigade Commander at Boniyar.

The Victory March witnessed huge volunteer participation by students, teachers, youths, elders, civil dignitaries, ex servicemen and veer naris. The wreath laying ceremony at Pir Panjal War Memorial was attended by serving personnel of Indian Army, Paramilitary Forces, Civil officials , war veterans and veer naris who paid homage to bravehearts of Kargil War.The Victory Flame brought together varied facets of people in Boniyar and filled them with sense of pride and patriotism.
