Deceased Was Also Related to GNS Correspondent Zaffer Iqbal
Srinagar, July 4 : Hameeda Begum, mother of renowned All India Radio (Srinagar) Broadcaster and Editor ‘Sheherbeen’ programme Maqsood Ahmad, passed away here on Monday evening. She was 74.
Begum, as per her family, was admitted at SMHS Hospital Srinagar last week. After several days of treatment, she couldn’t be saved and ultimately breathed her this evening, they said.
The deceased was aunt of GNS and Kashmir Uzma correspondent Zaffer Iqbal.
The funeral prayers to the departed soul, as per her family, will be held at her native village Garkote Uri anytime after 11 PM.
The GNS team extends its heartfelt commiserations on the demise of Hameeda Begum and prays for eternal bliss to her soul and forbearance to the bereaved family especially to Maqsood Ahmad and Zaffer Iqbal.
