J&K Reports 74 New Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Srinagar, July 2 : Jammu and Kashmir reported 74 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours even as there was no fatality due to the virus during the time, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 50 cases were reported from Jammu division and 24 from Kashmir division, taking the overall tally to 455257.

Giving district wise details, Jammu reported 39 cases, Srinagar 20, Kathua and Ramban three each, Udhampur, Samba and Pulwama two each while Rajouri, Baramulla and Anantnag reported one case each. Among the total cases, 167167 are from Jammu division and 288090 from Kashmir.

There was no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4756 persons have succumbed to the virus—2331 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 58 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—40 from Jammu division and 18 from Kashmir Valley. So far 449940 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 561— 399 in Jammu and 162 in Kashmir.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 8735 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
