Says encounter was important as site falls very close to NHW (Yatra Route)
Srinagar, June 29: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that two Local LeT militants were killed in a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
On the Behalf of IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Police Zone tweeted, ” Both the killed militants have been identified as categorised local terrorists of militant outfit LeT. Again an important encounter as the operation site was very close to NHW (Yatra route),”.
Earlier a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Nowpora Mirbazaar. As the joint team intensified searches, the hiding militants fired upon the search leading to an encounter.
