Sopore Police arrests 01 notorious drug peddler, contraband recovered

Sopore, June 24:Continuing its efforts to remove the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police has recovered 105 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of a narcotic peddler at Tujjar Shareef area of Police District Sopore.
Acting on an information that one Nasir Akbar Wani S/O Muhammad Akbar Wani R/O Tujjar Shareef Sopore is indulging in narcotics substances and has hoarded & concealed narcotic substance in his possession, a police team from Police Station Bomai headed by SHO Police Station Bomai Insp. Imtiaz Ahmad intercepted and apprehended the accused during naka checking at Bun Astan Tujjar Shareef.
During search, police party was able to recover 105 grams of Charas like substance from the accused drug smuggler.
A Case FIR number 32/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Bomai & investigation taken up. The investigation of the case is going on.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
