Soldier killed in ‘accidental’ grenade blast in Kupwara

Kupwara,June 17:  A soldier was killed in an accidental grenade blast in the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said.

They said a grenade exploded accidentally when the victim Signal-Man identified as Bharat Yaduwanshi was on sentry duty at Gonipora Gugtiyal Camp in Kupwara.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the injured soldier was rushed to 428 Field Hospital Zangli, Kupwara, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The dead body was handed over to the concerned Unit, after the completion of medico, and legal formalities while police initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPc. (KNT)
