Ganderbal Police Arrested A Notorious Drug Peddler, Contraband Substance Recovered From His Possession

Ganderbal,17 June:To eradicate the menace of drug abuse prevalent in the society Ganderbal Police continues its action against the drug peddlers. Today a notorious drug Peddler was apprehended at Sumbal Naka under the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora. A Police party led by DO Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal laid the naka and very tactfully apprehended the accused person with contraband substance.

The accused person was identified as Ashiq Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Maqbool R/O Hilalabad, Nesbal, Sumbal, Bandipora.During his personal search, Contraband Substance (20) No’s of Codeine Phosphate Bottles, (09) Strips of Spasmo Proxyvan Plus were recovered from his possession. The said illegal Drugs were seized on the spot.

It is pertinent to mention here that the accused peddler was intending to sell this Psychotic Substance to the youths of the District. In this regard FIR No.165/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up. Ganderbal Police is committed to eradicate the deadly menace of Drugs from the District and such action will continue in future. General public is requested to cooperate with Police by way of sharing inputs related to drug peddling so that appropriate action can be initiated under law.
