New Delhi, June 17  Inviting the youth of the country to join the Indian Armed Forces and serve the nation through the Agnipath scheme, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that “the relaxation of age by the government indicates that it cares for our youth.”

He was speaking about the one time age relaxation for the Agnipath Scheme.

“The Govt has announced a onetime upper age limit relaxation for the recruitment process through Agnipath scheme for 2022 to 23 years. The relaxation of age indicates that the Government cares for our youth,” the Minister said.

He further added that the Department of Military Affairs, Defence Ministry and Services are committed to commence the recruitment process “at the earliest.”

We invite the youth of our country to join the Indian Armed Forces and serve the nation through Agnipath, he said.

Meanwhile, the stir against the Agnipath recruitment scheme to the three services intensified on Friday with incidents of violence and arson being reported in several parts of northern India.
