Indian Army & Petronet to shape future of ‘Super 30’, MoU inked

Jammu, June 16 :The Indian Army and Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL) on Thursday joined hands for mission ‘Super 30’ to shape up the future of youth in yet another endeavour across the Jammu region.


The Nagrota based White Knight Corps of Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL) and Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) for a coaching project ‘Petronet Jammu Super 30’ for JEE examination.


The GOC White Knight Corps, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, interacted with officials of CSRL and Petronet and complimented them for their contribution towards noble initiative aimed at guiding the underprivileged youth towards a brighter tomorrow.


“Such initiatives will provide much needed special coaching for higher education to talented youth from remote areas of Jammu Region, which will enable the youth for admissions in reputed Engineering Institutes,” said the GOC.
He said selection of the students for such institutes will be a matter of pride for J&K and the Indian Army conveyed best wishes, success and a better future to all students and faculty of the project and assured all possible support to the project by Indian Army.


Speaking to media, the GOC termed it a magnanimous and generous effort by the corporate houses especially the Petronet for being a part of development in the Jammu region.
On a question that how such initiatives can overcome the attempts of militancy revival and radicalisation of youth in the region, Lt Gen Singh said, “attempts from adversaries are always there to divide and radicalise the society but we along with fellow friends from the corporate world and from the mainstream India and the Army across, both in education, sports and other sectors from the very beginning channelising our youth positively to keep them away from the wrong path.”


He however, lauded the role of ‘awaam’ (masses) and various agencies, who are collectively making efforts for the development and progress of the region and contributing in nation building by making youth strong and positive towards nation’s development.


“Army is changing the mindsets of the society through different initiatives and it is because of the role of each and everyone, the Jammu region for the last one decade is seeing peace and the violence is almost negligible because people are joining hands with the Army for progress and better tomorrow,” said the GOC.


Vikas Singh from Petronet said, “Under project, 30 selected students from entire Jammu region will be imparted coaching by qualified teachers in a fully residential facility established by the Indian Army at Reasi.”


He said that ‘Super 30’ will be selected through online examination and be imparted coaching for a period of one year and added, “we are thankful to the Indian Army that continues its relentless efforts to facilitate the youth of remote areas by providing quality education and thereby enabling them to realise their aspirations.”
