Srinagar, June 14:Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have rescued a minor girl hours after her abduction and arrested the accused in Ganderbal.
Police on June 13 received a written complaint from a resident of Shuhama Nagbal regarding the abduction of her minor grand-daughter and a case was registered and investigations set into motion.
Police said a special team was constituted who acted swiftly and raided various suspected places for rescuing the abducted girl.
After strenuous efforts, the Police team recovered the abducted minor girl in Srinagar at Nehru Park within hours and also arrested the accused kidnapper.
The arrested kidnapper has been identified as Aquib Ahamd Lone, a resident of Bumai in Sopore.
The girl was handed over to her legal heirs after legal formalities.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
