Comments made by BJP leader aimed at provoking minority community: Mehbooba

Srinagar, June 13 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti alleged that the comments by the BJP leader were made under a well-planned strategy aimed at provoking minority community so that their properties could be razed.

She said her (Nupur Sharma) remarks were meant to divert the attention from the killing of Kashmiri Pundit’s as BJP has completely failed to handle the situation.

“The comments made by the BJP leader were planned under a well strategy to alienate the minority community of the country”, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said while talking to the media persons in Srinagar today.

She “alleged that the ruling party is alienating the minorities of the country. Questions are being raised about their food and wearing clothes. Those who are raising voice are being lynched or shot”.

“The India which was dreamed by the Gandhi and Nehru BJP has done all against that and there could be very serious repercussions against it”, she said.

Regarding providing security to Nupur Sharma, Mehbooba said when someone will get threat…there is need to provide him or her security…first of all the threat should not have been issued. I don’t think there is anything wrong in providing security to her, she said.

She said for the past few years we are seeing that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) or National Investigation Agency (NIA) or else who were established for checking corruption and crime cases, BJP has made all of them their Alliance partner.

“Like a political alliance partner is pursuing the work of government, similarly these agencies are working for the ruling party” Mehbooba alleged.

She said Rahul Gandhi is raising public interest issues which are not in the interest of BJP and such steps are being taken to silence him. “Summoned by ED, it is just to count down Rahul Gandhi”, PDP leader said.

She said those who are joining BJP are saving themselves from these raids. Otherwise this is just a witch hunt against the opposition leaders.
