DYSS organises cycle rally to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Srinagar, June 4: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K organised a Bicycle Rally in twin districts of Kashmir on the occasion of World Bicycle Day, as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.’

In Bandipora, the cycling rally started from Shogbaba and culminated at Mini secretariat.
The event was flagged off by Chief Education Officer (CEO), Bandipora, and DYSSO Bandipora in which more than 150 participants from the district participated.

Muzamil Ahmad, who attended the event, said that it was a wonderful experience while participating along with participants from the district.

He said that the spirit of the participants during the cycling event was high.

“Such events need to be organised again and again,” he said. “The common people need a stress-free life and events like this are a step towards that.”

Irfan Ahmad, a participant while praising the department said that they were cheered by the passers-by all along the route.

Similarly, in Pulwama, a Bicycle rally was flagged off by District Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Officer, Syed Noor Ul Haq from DC Office Complex in which more than 80 students of adjacent Zones Pulwama, Kakapora and Tahab Participated.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Officer emphasized the importance of cycling and urged students to make the cycling a daily routine, which will not only help to improve one’s physical and mental health, but will also protect one from indulging in a bad society.
The Officer hailed the participants and thanked the District Administration for providing fool-proof arrangements for the event which successfully culminated at Peaks Gango Crossings.
