Police recover 1300 bottles of Codeine Phosphate in Bandipora, one arrested

Srinagar, June 1 :Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a person and recovered about 1300 bottles of Codeine Phosphate in Bandipora.


Police said that on a tip off about the presence of consignment of banned Codeine Phosphate, which was likely to be distributed at Nakhpora Khaloosa in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Police along with a concerned magistrate raided the place and recovered about 1300 bottles of banned Codeine phosphate from the premises.
Maqsood Ahmad Rather, a resident of Kaloosa, has been arrested in this connection.
Police said investigation is on to reveal from where the consignment had come and where it was supposed to be delivered. Meanwhile, the Police has registered a case under the relevant laws.
They said more arrests are likely to take place in this case.
